1. How are character classes managed?
Character classes are called Professions. After a a few levels of experience, the player will be able to select two Professions in which to specialize. Currently, there are six Professions:
Elementalists
Warriors
Necromancers
Rangers
Monks
Mesmers

2. How are Guilds supported?
Guilds will be able to utilize a Buddy system for "member online" notification. In addition, the Guild Wars will provide Forums, and "in game" buildings for meetings and Guild identity.

3. How many skills will be available?
As of Sept 24th, 2003, we only know that there will be "several hundred unique skills". (HomeLAN Interview)

4. Can skill use affect other players?
Yes. A great example is the use of the heal skill. While the heal skill can be used to heal yourself and your companions, the radius of the skill also affects all players and monsters within the targetted raduis.

5. How will character skills work?
Skills will be tied to the Professions. Naturally, Magic Skills will be most useful for Magic based character (such as the Necromancer) and Combat skills will be more appropriate for Melee Characters. ArenaNet has assured us that the Profession/Skill game programming prevents users from producing "dud" characters.

6. What is the purpose of Maps?
Maps play a vital role in game play. Not only do maps indicate where you are in the Guild Wars World, they also allow you to share vital mission information with your Guild or Party members.

7. How will Outposts and Towns factor into the game?
Outposts and Towns will act as saving points in the game. They will permit game players to re enter missions at key locations, and can serve as meeting points for teaming adventurers.

8. What is the maximum number of characters a player may have?
from Baranor "Currently 4. This might be a limit due to testing however, so I have no idea about the total number that will be in the final release."

9. Is the world divided into several zones in which a player has to load the next zone when transfering??
from Baranor: "You pick a map, travel there, assemble a party and then enter the map. Once on the map there's no more loading, and loading times between the maps are single download times. Once you have the most recent map, reloading it is not an issue. Its zone-based, but once you enter a zone, you don't need to load anything anymore."

10. What is the current minimum number of members that is required to start a guild?
from Dutchman: "Guilds are loosely based at the moment, don't believe any of that has been decided. A few folks have been tagging chars but as far I know thats the extent of it to date."
